Hello - 12:41 p.m. 10/15/2008

Message: Hello! As a member of City Council, we talked at our workshop on Monday, October 13 about a few possibilities of getting more information out to you.
One of the things discussed would be to: tape and broadcast our council meetings on KLTV so that people that are housebound (or that want to record and fast forward to skip ahead to listen to only the portions they're interested in) will be able to view Council meetings on TV. It is my understanding that this is of little or even possibly no cost to the City.
Another idea that I have been thinking about is to have periodic Town Hall meetings for citizens to discuss and bring forward potential solutions to area concerns in a less formal environment. I'm wondering if there'd be any interest in a quarterly Saturday morning coffee meeting...?
I would like to know if there is any citizen interest in either of these ideas.
You can contact me at either council03@integrity.com or mccallm@ci.woodland.wa.us.
Thank you!

Woodland Alumni Assoc. - 8:49 a.m. 10/15/2008
Recently, We have been approached about a Alumni Club, seems everyone has ideas, but no time to start one up. The Booster Club is willing to lay the groundwork, and get things set up, We will be setting this up,in hopes some Woodland Alumni will step forward and take it over. We believe this is a excellent opportunity for re-newing old friendships, making new ones, and offering a scholarship fund, each year to a Senior graduating from Woodland High School. We are graduates of WHS, we have some good ideas, and are willing to help and be members, but, we have 10 scholarships a year we raise money for with the Booster Club, so this is something We dont mind getting up and running, but eventually we want someone to come in and take over. The only criteria is, You must have attended Woodland Schools. So, what are you waiting for? Might be fun!

Wal-Mart - 11:31 a.m. 10/5/2008
I find it odd that a community that desperatly needs jobs and commerce would not want a company that can help provide just that. Contrary to what people think their is not one employee that make minimum wage. All the people i have known make well over minimum and get good benefits from wal-mart. Please dont believe the wal-mart bad montra that has plagued some peoples minds.
I'm sure everyone can agree that even a lower paying job is better than no job at all. The benifits that Woodland would recieve from a company as large as Wal-mart would help every citizen. My company hopes to hire a few more employees in the near future and I want Woodland residence to be first inline for those jobs.
Jobs equal a better quality of life for all.
